ADI encourages assistance dog organizations in different regions of the world to come together to form ADI regions. ADI believes that some issues that affect assistance dog organizations are best dealt with internationally (e.g. standards, accreditation) while other issues inevitably have a strong regional focus (e.g. public access rights for assistance dog graduates, regional issues, etc.). The request to form a region must come from ADI accredited member organizations located in a minimum two countries.
ADI formally recognizes regional chapters that have at least five member organizations in the region. At present, there are three formally recognized Regions:
